How To Cook Pork Asado (Asadong Baboy)

Asado in Spanish (a’saðo) means grilled meat. In the Philippines asado means sweet and salty braised marinated pork.


  • 1 kilo pork
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 piece bay leaf
  • 2 cups water

  • In a Large bowl combine soy sauce, garlic, salt and pepper
  • Add the pork in the mixture and marinade for at least 1 hour
  • In a medium pan/wok place the pork and mixture
  • Add water bay leaf, sugar and star anise let it boil for 40 minutes
  • Wait until the sauce is reduced and thicken
